Approach
SWMRT offers educational programs for corporates, institutions, communities and other target groups on topics of solid waste management. The program engages with participants to create mindfulness around waste as individuals and communities that is so necessary for a significant social change. The program has experienced speakers and coaches who do not just share knowledge but inspire participants to be the agents of change and motivate them to engage with the community
Structure
The programs offers various formats:

Expert talk: A single session (online or offline) covering a waste management theme.

Immersive program: Multiple sessions (online or offline) covering various topics to create changemakers who can facilitate action and community engagement.

Experiential learning: Field visit to the Swachagraha Kalika Kendra and other facilities to get a hands on experience of concepts and processes.

Objectives
Training key stakeholders is important for adoption and implementation of solid waste management principles. While the general public needs just awareness and practice information, municipal staff and administration need more in-depth training. Training ensures that municipal officers are not just made conversant with the SWM Rules, regulatory requirements and the technical requirements but also kept informed about the various best practices and application based learning which assists them in their daily operations.
Approach
To provide field exposure to best practices practitioner led sessions with hands on demonstration and field applications of models and concepts within the framework of municipal rules
Structure

Panel or group discussions which create a platform for exchange of ideas , challenges and ideating for solutions to overcome the same.

Master training programs using a Training of Trainer (TOT) approach also enables creating a cadre of engaged citizens to bring about change in their ward through constructive engagement like Field visits and demonstration workshops.
Trashonomics

Objectives
Though most of the work done around interventions and strategies of waste management is done with individuals and communities, it is often seen that children played an important role in bringing in acceptance for change in behaviours. However this complex yet essential subject of solid waste management and its relation with environment, public health and sustainability is missing from textbooks. In an effort to remedy this gap the Trashonomics, an SWM book as a simple guide for children was created and published by SWMRT as knowledge partner, based on its experience and learnings and supported by The Anonymous Indian Charitable Trust (TAICT). It was released by KSPCB on World Environment Day, June 5th 2016.
